service manuals it can be done by tilting the engine down and draw the
tranny back. At present the bellhousing is completely unbolted,
driveshaft removed, rear crossmember removed but their is not enough
clearance to drop the tranny rearward and back. Has anybody attempted
this feat with success? In the 8 hours it took me to struggle through

Brent, I've just been through this with my SV non-od. In fact I
just got finished reinstalling everything except for the gear shift and
tranny fluid, then I'm ready to go!
I removed the shifter,radiator, oil fill pipe, disconnected the
exhaust where it meets the manifold, the clutch slave and throttle
linkage, etc then tipped the engine until I could slide the trans. out .
I don't know about the S2 but there is plenty of room with the S5 if you
tip it enough.
