Thanks everyone for replying, but yes, I agree that there might be an
open curcuit from the battery to the field. I cleaned the contacts on
the field and voltage relays and set the point gaps. Being that our
regulators are pretty simple devices (they don't have a current relay to
limit the field currents), do they have a fusible wire or just blow the
field resistor to save the generator's field coils from too much load?
Do the new regulators have the three relay version? Curt, any comments?
