Okay that was my next question.  You did yours with the windshield
installed.  Mine is out right now and it seemed to me it was real tight to
get at the original dash screws with the windshield still in place.  I am in
the process of restoring the car and my painter wants the windshield in
place.  I assumed I would therefore have to install the dash before this
operation.  Larry.

I'm able to get the tonneau twisties on over the dash-cap.  There may 
be some extra effort involved but it's not a hassle in my  case.  Use 
lots of cardboard shims or wooden wedges to push down against the W/S 
rubber and keep the front edge of the cap down during installation.
