Hummm... interesting story.
My story was a bit simplier.
Day 1... discover leaking front brakes. Write Carl Jaeger and order 4
stainless steel resleeved calipers for $240. Box up 4 old calipers and send
to him. Order front brake pads
Day 2,3,4 relax, take it easy, enjoy tequila, beer, or drink of choice.
Day 5. Parts arrive. Take off old calipers, install new calipers and new
pads. Feel industrious and regrease front bearings, paint up front end
parts.
Day 6. Install new parts on freshly relubed front axles. Bleed brakes.
Go drive car and enjoy the ride!!
Total cost about $300 and 2 days downtime... Maybe it's just me, but this
seems easier to go with original style? :)
