Jonmac and all -

The British must be a nation of joiners. The Trumph club membership is matched
by the Jaguar
Clubs. There are three clubs in England, two with 15,000+ members each and the
other with
several thousand. The Jaguar Clubs of North America, with 52 individual
affiliated clubs,
totals only 6,000. Yet, as with Triumph and MG, the vast majority of Jaguar
sports cars were
sold here.

Even more interesting, car clubs in other countries maintain club premises and
even own their
own buildings. Some have pubs! Does anyone know of a US car club that meets in
its own
building?

Most of the ones I belong to turn out enough people at meetings to comfortable
fill somebody's
living rom and that's about it. It's a different world.
