I know what you are going through -The same thing happended to me after only
about five minutes of run time... The motor was trashed. I needed new
pistions, cam, lifters, the crank journals were scuffed but, not needing
only polishing, the oil pump impellar went south too. it was not cheap. It
took forever to get the metal-flakes out from the block and oil. It was in
everywhere the oil went the oil cooler, accusump.. I used what I thought
were OK tappets..but, some four of them were used previously and though they
looke perfectly fine during the engine build they were not. The just ground
down the cam lobe to nothing.
