It is worth a try before ripping out the engine. Consider trying a can of
aluminum filings first. If that doesn't work, then a can of Bars Stop Leak.
Years ago, I use to know of shops who would try to weld blocks with the
engine in the car, if they could get at the cracks. Nothing is guaranteed,
especially for a long time.
