My recomendation to you is to build with SCTA rules in mind, since your
going to Bonneville eventually.  With SCTA the speed range is based on the
record speed  for the class, not the speed your car will attain. So with a
record in the 139 MPH range you can run with a roll bar only (I believe six
point) and not a full cage.
You will also need a five pound fire system installed to protect the driver,
H rated tires, 3" seat belts, fire suit etc. etc.

With all this you'll be all set for Maxton too.

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you...

We want to try out the car at Maxton at the first event, and if it looks
like we are even close, go to Bonneville later in the year.  By the way,
close for us is not the crazy speeds you guys get to, close is within 10 or
20 mph safely....

The Neon is a 2.0 liter engine, measures out at 1996cc.  I'm figuring it for
G Production.  I see the record is about 140mph, our car is speed limited to
130mph, and even if we do find a way around the speed limiter, we are gear
limited to 138mph....

It's all about the experience with us...  We run the car in One Lap of
America, another lunatic fringe motorsport...

By the way, my motivation for LSR goes all the way back to First Grade.  One
of the songs we sang in Music Class was about some guy named Craig
Breedlove....  I can still whistle the tune...
