Bill; Nitriding is similar to case hardening and may be thick enough to not 
crack through. What you are calling caged needle bearings I think is what I 
call roller bearings. They are in split cages, For the thrust bearing I was 
told Ball bearings are used with the races that curve around the side. I 
don't know what they are called but they take radial and thrust loads. I 
guess your injectors would be on the bottom of the crankcase. Kind of strange 
but doable. The price is the big holdup I see.  Rich
