I don't know if I have actually done this or not... so I will Pick up my
adventures after Speedweek...

Went 218 at Speedweek and burnt a small hole in #2 piston.... on the 4th
run.... So called Ross and ordered New Pistons with More meat in the Dome..
and put the motor on a Stand and started concentrating on what I really
wanted to run... the Rodeck Based D Motor... a 4.125 bore 2.8 stroke Pure
Nitrous Motor with 18degree Nascar Short Track Heads... Sorted Through all
the issues of sticking the motor together and finally Got the Thing Home the
Week before WOS.... Monday it went together with all the custom made Parts
on a Stand and got it in the car Tuesday... Tried to Start it on Wed and ran
into the Oil Restrictors being Un Drilled.... finally got good oil flow to
the Heads and Made a litte Noise on Wed.... Thrusday I am warming it up and
the Trash goes through the Crank Bearings.... Loses Oil Pressure... FRIDAY I
oil Down Miss Kathy....( significant Event in my life.... Still wondering
JUST how much That Oil is going to cost me in Emotional Grief )  Finally
give up on the Motor on Friday afternoon and Cancel all my plans... worked
to damn hard to this point and it's honestly a Relief to think I am not
going to have to make the Trip....
So I go up to the House.... Start cleaning up....and it dawns on Me... Geez
wonder if Ross Sent those Pistons and if they got there .... Call the
office.... Yep Big Black Box with Ross on the side.... WAY COOL... Off I
go... took the Pistons home and called the Motor builder... Saturday
Thrash.... They Rebalance the crank fit the Rings... and assemble the
motor... mean while I am at Home installing the New Cabinets in the Bread
Box and sorting out some of the little stuff I need to take... Get the Motor
Late Saturday evening.... Stuff it in the Car... and crank it Sunday Morning
as soon as it was Respectable...

Get a Call From Ole Blue Hair... Tell him to be ready 1pm the next day....
and he is a 1000 miles from me in Oklahoma... Brad Drops by and helps me
Fire up the Motor Run out of Gas... but it runs... stick it in the Trailer
and OFF I go....

Picked UP Blue Hair.... Quick Lesson in how to drive a Truck with a
Trailer... and I am off to NAP land.... absolutely exhausted... I let him
Drive and I slept the Better part of Monday.... until the 2am serinade....
Get to Salt Lake Tuesday Morning at 8am.... run around taking him to the
Harley Dealer... and working with Competion design on some of the Last Min
Nitrous fittings... Pick up a Mother Bottle of Nitrous at Praxair.... and
then go over and Nap at the Airport waiting for Dave... Got no Clue what
flight... but I have an arrival time... Get on the Salt around 6pm
Tuesday...

Sneak through Tech.... Hmmm and Dave explains to a Fella that Nitrogen is
NOT an Oxidizer... Wow very different Tech then anything I had ever been
through... but we pass.... Get all the Little adjustments to the New Fuel
system done and make our Two Passes on Wed... both turn outs... no
Nitrous...

Thursday we make another 4 passes always finding something wrong... and
Still no Nitrous.... Dave Hangs the Nick Name.... " No Nitrous Turk " on
me.... and asks Permission to Cut the Wires in a Very Formal way.... Yeah
Right.... Cut the car in Half... just make the Nitrous come on... Meanwhile
I got Ed Van Scoy Holding Jets and adjusting Motor Chains.... and Mayf doing
my Tool Sorting and working .... Dave decides he don't like the Look of the
Nitrous bottle Mount... ( a three day event to make back home ) so Mayf and
I took out the Box and rebuilt the Mounts redrilled it and reinstalled it...
Joe Amo and Jon are over and Help with the Ballast Shifting and Beating into
Place....

Dave set about a very Methodical Test Procedure on his New Wiring Harness
for the N2O.... and we go to bed Thrusday Night saying if it don't come on
this time we are going to BURN the Car..... It's gotta be right...

First Pass Friday... we Got Nitrous and LOTS of it.... Car hits really hard
and runs like stink to the 4 and then can't go any faster on the Hp
avalible.... a 226 pass.... OKAY FINALLY have something to Tune on.... Dave
ups the Nitrous to 200hp and off we go.... car runs better then Ever and
Pulls Hard to the 3 1/2 and I start seeing water on the windshield.... NOT
GOOD... finally let up before the 4 and go through at 228.304 on a 230
record....

Friday afternoon we snatched the Head thinking it might just be a Head
Gasket.... ahhhh NOPE.... got a Valve seat and Mayf and I stick it all back
together... nothing fancy just set the Bolts in Place... and then do the
Picture thing with Adrenilin TV .... Take Three Days to get home and arrive
on Tuesday.... Leave Friday for Maxton.... and the Rest is History....
Except Dan Wright Was Kind enough to figure out where I got the Mother
Bottle and return it to them....

Great Time... Great Friends.... What can I say.. I Tried... NEXT YEAR i know
what my car needs to set the record... but you still gotta make it
happen.... and as we all know there are no Given's in this Sport....

Keith ( oh did I mention Breaking the Trailer Axle on the way into the State
of Alabama... Got cut off in a Narrow lane and hit a curb.... Wow..)
