We run a single 110V heater coil in the tank (5 gal. cap.). I takes about an
hour to get the oil up to an acceptable temp. We run the heater off the
generator first thing in the morning. After that the oil was warm enough all
day. Bonneville this year was our first time with a heater and it really
shortens the warm up time when running alcohol. In regard to batteries most
everyone I talk to who uses an electronic ignition is running a generator
especially when combined with EFI and computer control. Hope that helps.
Jim in cold (50) but dry Palmdale
