ok, time for me to chime in. Quite a few yearsago, The General (GM) took a
turbine from their allison division and stuck them in a few trucks AND
busses. For some odd reason, GM didn't think that this would be a popular
set up with customers, not to mention that the trucks (especially with a full
load) would constantly pick the front tires off of the ground and from time
to time, snap off bolts. This was the reason that was told to us at an
allison training class years ago.
