"As for rear engined Lakesters.... well .... they are a Hoot.... fun
stuff... BUT how do I know when to hit the Fire bottles? K"

You don't. I can say from personal experience that with a rear- engine car,
you are the last to know that you're on fire.

I wondered why people were pointing and jumping up and down, but as I made a
left turn at a traffic light, another driver yelled "Your car is on fire!".
Looking in my rear- view mirror, I confirmed his diagnosis! I pulled over to
the curb in a vacant area and popped the lid-- no way I was going to be able
to put out that fire, so I grabbed my briefcase and took a few important
papers out of the glove compartment and I watched it burn. Scratch one ugly
green Porsche 911.

It was such a bad shade of green that once when I parked it at a Circle-K to
pick something up, a bearded guy covered with prison tattoes sitting in an
old pickup truck watched me as I parked next to him and commented as I got
out "Nice Porsche....shitty color." I had to agree with him.
