So you didn't try to recharge them at the track. That was where my question
was leading. For the lakes, you'd either need a BUNCH of extra charged
bottles, or have some way to recharge them there (and deal with the
compression heating).

We took them to a welding equipment supplier and exchanged them. We didn't
have the ability to handle them in our small shop at the time. When they ran
the Mickey Thompson Funny car I was no longer involved with the project.
