A "moderate amount of stopping room" is Bill's gentle way of saying you need
to be ready to throw out the anchor -- a darn good one at that -- no more
than two feet after you clear the lights!!  And be ready for some steering
to the right about fifteen hundred feet after those lights if you aren't
stopped yet, and if you're over the 2, you won't be.  So steer right and be
ready to relax everything for the three sand traps you'll run through. . .

Don't worry -- it all makes for fine dinner conversations.

<<There's a moderate amount of stopping room at Maxton, so you need good
brakes, maybe a chute if it's that fast(almost any mc streamliner would
be), and stability until you bring it to rest.  And you need to be on
the ball to go into braking mode instantly when you clear the lights.
