I worked on pipeline projects under running powerlines. Aside from some
possibly
wiped out bank cards, the main things were grounding any lengths of pipe
(36"dia.) and dragging small chains from the pickups.
I know the thing of 'hey, there's something hanging down under your truck...'
but
if we didn't, or a fun-loving co-worker hung it up on the bumper, you would get
a
good snap when you went for the door handle. Now this was the truck picking up
a
charge, not you charging yourself up on the seat, though I guess that works both
ways. Some just hung chains, but you can also hang straps etc. from the
undercarriage.
Kieth; experiment; get charged up, and see if you spark to a ground (post etc.)
of if it's just to the truck.
Btw, they would weld up long sections of pipe; if it wasn't grounded, it would
throw a man on his arse pretty fast.
Never want to live under big lines, but if I ever do, I don't think I'll pay
much
for power; to heck with cold fusion, induction works just fine.
