Flathead Screw?

The blower requirements for the flathead (XF) classes limit the
technology to the Roots or the mechanically-driven centrifugal types. I
agree, since these were the only technologies in the "nostalgia" days.
However, since the Roots is so universally accepted can the new
SCREW-type blowers be used on a flathead (XF)?  Is a high-heliz Roots
approved?

 

Remember the Latham axial-flow blower?  I have never heard of, or seen
the use of this blower in LSR. Can it be used in the flathead (XF)
classes?   -Elon
