sounds more like a quark...

I seen lots of golf ball sleeves have the trajectory of the ball printed on
the back side. Most ball flights are out early on a straight trajectory then
drop abruptly. The reverse spin conbined with the forward motion tends to
kill the lift (reduced velocity on the top of the ball, thus less lift).
When spin becomes the dominant vector of the flight then the ball drops
downward, toward that hole in one! My 2 cents worth...from an old golfer or
