Ralph,

All the production (or identical reproduction) body panels have to be in
place and in the same relationship to one another. In other words, you can't
run an aftermarket air dam or roll pan... Hood scoops are legal. Bed covers
are legal, but (IMHO) the rule book has contradictory statements about how
bed covers can cover the bed.

The inner panels (i.e. wheel well tubs in the bed) have to be intact and not
moved. You can radius the wheel well openings on the fenders to allow more
room for tire clearance. You can slam the suspension and need not run
production-style suspension at all. There are other rules re suspension in
regards to safety, but in PP, you can completely rework the suspension.

You can run little tires, cut the springs, use different rear end (non
quick-change),etc. Any transmission is legal.

You can run any motor type that was available in that model year, in that
body style. For instance, you can run a small block chevy in a 1997 C-1500
in PP, but you cannot run a small block in an S-10 since there was never a
V-8 available in the S-10. The motor type is determined by the block and
heads. Beyond that, you can use any induction, cam, pistons, exhaust that
you can come up with. Note, some aftermarket (high-dollar) small-block heads
may not be considered 'production'.

There are other rules that distinguish PP from MP (modified pickup)
including that you must run the original gas tank and radiator in the
original locations and the interior must be somewhat in place.

And, you're right... no blowers, no funny fuel. Now you can run a small
blown motor in MP, but no fuel... yet.

Hope that helps for now. Whatcha buildin? Be glad to help.
