Bob.... your absolutely right.... it's about sacrifices... not as much about
having the money to do this or not.... it's about having the money and
making the decision to compromise in other sections of your life to do
this... I know I don't buy expensive Burritos... cause those cheapy's might
just leave me enough beans to buy some more gas...

What I was trying to say about last weekend was that it each of us can
compete at some level.... if your just one of the 100,000 talkers... that's
all your ever going to be... a Talker.... But if you wish to be a racer...
all you have to do is figure out how to be there... just being there is
racing... and quite frankly I don't know a crew out there that won't take a
volunteer on to help them with the effort... So even if you don't enter a
vehicle you can participate and be a racer....

Going and being part is the critical issue here... First Passion... then
Action..... somewhere in there Action equals results.

> I have just come up from the shop and sucked a few coor's. I was giving
thought to what it takes to break a record. I have been gathering parts for
4 years, have been building the old camaro for 2 years, been going to
speedweek for 4 years. The commitment land speed guys have to put into this
sport is really super high. For the most part, it is your hard work with
some hard earned money or buying it with your really hard earned money.
There is probably 100,000's of people that would like to do it but only
1000- per year that have the commitment to really do it it. Back to the
shop for me.!!!!!
