Gary, just remember my philosophy: "It is far better to race slow, than to
read fast!". I've been reading and dreaming about land speed racing since
1953. Not until 1999 did I finally get to start living the dream. I was
sitting in the living room reading about the 50th Bonneville meet and commented
under my breath (to myself as I often do these days) that I wished I had done
that just once. I didn't know my wife was standing right behind me until she
answered: "So, get out there and do it." Five years and six "soft" records
later and I'll never look back. The East Texas Camaro has given me countless
hours of enjoyment at Maxton, both preparing and competing, and now, God
willing, it's going to be on the salt this fall. Go for it Gary, I know you
have a good set of well-seasoned, Daytona veteran, racing leathers already.
Just do it!
