1993 was my first year on the salt as a competitor. I
remember the car in question, Bobby Unser and Mr.
Roush all there to see that Bobby received every
possible opportunity to succeed (which he did). The
reason for this exercise was pure marketing. Bobby's
handlers felt the Indy thing was getting old and that
he needed something more current to revitalize his
career (it didn't). IMHO, Bobbie didn't/doesn't give a
rip about the Two Club. In fact, I think it was Mrs.
Summers that, at the 1993 PRI show breakfast speech,
asked Al Unser Sr. if he would follow Bobby into the
Two Club. You don't want to know his reply.

The point is, regardless how you get into the 200MPH
Club, it takes a rather large effort. Unlimited funds
and the right connections does not guarantee a spot in
the club. And hey, Bobby is a pretty good driver, too.
