Keith;

Hmmm... that's a good question. I'll restrict my answer to power tools, so
here goes.

1. Craftsman die grinder. With a collection of 1/4" carbide burrs, grinding
wheels, & HS rotary files you can do lots of stuff with this little jewel.

2. Craftsman saber saw. This is a "companion" to the die grinder; make a cut
with the saber saw and dress it with the die grinder. By choosing an
appropriate blade you can cut anything from fiberglass to titanium.

3. DeWalt cordless drill with a keyless 3/8" chuck. Simply indispensable.

4. Cherry (?) pneumatic blind rivet gun. If you're using big aluminum rivets
or Monel rivets, you'll be glad you aren't pulling those rivet stems by hand
after setting a few.

5. Cleco fastener assortment. If you do anything with sheet metal you need
as many of these things as possible. Although these aren't "power tools"
they are so useful that I thought I'd include them anyway.

These are just a few that come to mind.

a guy posed this question on another list and I liked it so much I thought
I'd
share it with you folks....

Like a solvent tank and air wrench.... what are the tools in your shop that
you don't immediately need but now that you have them wouldn't do without?

In my case it's a quality Vernier Caliper.... I just love the thing...

I have two cheapy's but always revert to my best one...
