Hey Neil, looks a lot like your idea!  My only "issue" is it looks like you 
have to pull a pit pin on each side to disengage the cylinders.  On some of the 
tight fitting cages in LSR I'm not sure you'd have room to do that.

<Some of the Hans alternatives look pretty scarey . The Hans restrains on a
horizontal plane at the CG of the drivers head . The others I saw , maybe to
get around the Hans patent , have straps that anchor at a lower point so
foreward on the head presses down on the neck .

Has anyone looked at the Isaac device. It appears that it hooks to the
shoulder straps, has cylinder dampeners that allow head movement, but
restricts on quick movement.  http://www.isaacdirect.com/  Take a look and
tell me what do you think?
