The heater valves found in A/C kits work very well, but they are vacuum
operate, not cable operated as the MG valve is. They can be used, but will
require an on/off switch & a vacuum motor.

I have used a Dodge valve in the past that was cable operated, & it worked
very well. I suggest you follow up on Jack Emory's suggestion. Jack has a
real talent for finding alternatives.

Barrie, have you looked at getting a Land Rover/Range Rover spare?
Those are much bigger cars to heat, and of course it'll work w/ the
V-8.  Another option is to go to Vintage Air, or Southern Rods.  They
sell A/C kits for cars and have valves.  Those are plumbed between two
sections of pipe, vs. right to the block, but I think that's how it's
done on the RV8.
