No, the high tech approach would be to use the dual 6v batteries for most
components in the car, then have a lead off of only one 6v cell running to
a DC-DC transformer, which steps it up to 11.4 volts, from which it is
transistor-regulated to a constant 10.0 volts, with huge capacitors for
stabilization. This, of course, would be the way Lucas would have done it
if M.G. hadn't interfered. ;-)
