Yes.  This is one of those issues, like silicone brake fluid vs.
DOT4, and paint X vs. paint Y, which you have to decide yourself.  For
the record, my MGB transmission has 20W-50 and 150,000 miles, and is
still in good shape.  I have used silicone brake fluid on my daily
drivers for 10 years without any problems.  And I am still trying to
decide what paint to use when my BGT gets it's sills welded back in
(hopefully by winter).
