I just read Genn Schnittke's post on manifolds cracking between #'s 2 & 3
plug and completely agree.
Since purchase in 71, my B has consumed at least 2 manifolds. The cracks are
always between plugs 2 & 3. The work was done in two workshops separated by
almost 3000 miles. I had lots of other work done by both shops and was
always pleased with the care they took in servicing the car.
The real problem may lie in the fact that my car lacks self esteem as it
