I've been following this a bit, and thought I'd toss in my two cents
worth - I just bought a 'performance' cam from Northwest Import Parts,
and the weay he did it is just the way it is described here - material
is ground from the heel to make the effective lift greater. With
mechanical lifters, the difference in height can be adjusted out. That's
the way hotrodders in my distant mis-spent youth did it, too (the '50s
and '60s).
