That's what I'm trying to ferret out, what's interchangeable and what
isn't.

The reason I'm interested is that some tech article on putting a B engine
into an A mentioned using the A water pump or shimming the radiator
forward 1/4". Also recommended against the A pump because it wouldn't
have enough flow capacity to cool the B engine. Which leads to the
possibility of using a B pump on an A to get increased flow.

All the A and B pumps I've seen so far are identical internally, so no
difference in flow (except this silly new die-cast aluminum one I got
stuck with).

I've also seen an article that shows how to modify the front hub on a B
pump to clear the radiator and put the pulley in the right place on the
A. None (or neither) or these articles mentions different models of
water pumps on the B's, so no way to tell what each party started out
with.

I'm trying to accrue one of each model of water pump for comparison.
It's turning out to be a few more pieces than I first thought. I'll let
y'all know what transpires.
