My GT has a two-piece antenna. The base is permanently (more or less) mounted
to the fender, and the mast screws to the base. I've seen these in a couple of
styles: the short, black, flexible "rubber" mast, a 31" stainless steel mast
with a spring loaded base. I just unscrew the mast and toss it onto the
passenger seat before I put my cover on.
