If the switches work, keep 'em, and pretty them up! I like Eric's method -
that's a keeper!. Plus you have the knowledge that they are TRULY original
and you made them look great yourself. Model paint is less than $1 a bottle,
and it won't look botched if you polish the excess off of the face.
Reminds me, I yanked the nasty MG motif off of my trunk, boy what a mess.
DPO(s) glued it on after the pins broke off -- one layer OLD epoxy, another
some black caulk/sealant...this combo ate at and wrinkled the nice silver
paint within the badge (DON'T GLUE your trim with this junk!!!). Now I'm
digging out all this crap AND original color until I have a clear plastic MG
motif, and I'll repaint with Testor model paint, silver, then black. This is
Dentist's work, I'm using the Dremel and dental tools to get all the junk
outta there! A lot of work and probably easier to buy a new one, but that's
not sporting, is it?
