On my 67BGT, I left in the working British Motor Corporation AM radio. And
since the car has positive ground, I was wary about installing a cassette
player in the radio slot. What I did was fashion a long power cable that
plugs into the cigarette lighter. Then I have a cassette player attached
that usually sits on the passenger seat (or the back seat if the passenger
seat is in use).

Its different, maybe not classy. But it works, its easily removed, and can
be stored out of sight (under the seat) when the car is parked. For
speakers, I use cheap ones that are cased and rest on either end of the
back seat.
