I had my MGB-GT rigged up PRETTY SWEET! Had something called a kicker box on
the back seat (which has no seating use anyway) that had two 10" speakers,
two bass tubes, and two trumpets, I think made by Kicker I'm not sure it was
a while back. Excellent drop-in, pull out speaker system self contained that
won't ruin the car and fits perfectly on an MGB_-GT seat or a MGB battery
tray. Later on, I put some Altec Lansing (none of this is expensive stuff
but it works great) midrange speakers let into the door (door trims are DIRT
cheap to replace and mine were horrible anyway) with tweeters mounted on the
cant rail above the door. The tweeters were tiny, and inch wide maybe?? I
also took some black foam core and some bass speakers and two of them into
the voids behind the tail lights. I then put an amp on the side of the
kicker box. Wired a big power line from the fuse box through some holes that
were already in the firewall along the transmission tunnel and to the amp
which was on the back seat.

It was a KICK ASS system, sounded great, I LOVED it.

Well, anyway, MGB-GTs don't lock up to well and one day someone thought
they'd like to have my Kicker box and amp. Oh well, said goodbye to that. I
think I had blown a speaker on it anyway. What upset me was that the main
power line to the amp had gotten caught under the seat runner and when I
turned on the stereo (not noticing the speakers missing yet) the wiring
shorted out and the car caught on fire. Bit of a shame. The car wasn't
junked (I wish I had been it was junk!) but I never did bother updating the
stereo system in my Jaguar XJ-S V-12
