Odd question I've been mulling over. With the availability of Heritage
shells, isnt it theoretically posible that I could spend a small bit of cash
on a serious basket case with a clear title, and only use the VIN number
from that car and create a new one?

I'm already laying plans for my next car after this B. A V8 with all the
tweaks. Maybe even that independant suspension I mentioned in my other post.

All I need to drive it is a title. I could probably get a new from-scratch
car titled, but emissions and 'Safety' would kill me. In Ohio I dont have to
submit to an emissions test for any car older than 25 years. So if I got a
title to a 60s or early 70's B, ditched the rustpot it was attached to, and
started over with a heritage shell, that would work. Wouldnt it? It would
still be a car of the year on the title.

I was just reading about the Heritage Shells, and I have a question. It said
they werent made to any specific year, but could be adapted to any. For all
you V8'ers out there, does that mean it's easier to bolt a Buick 215 into a
heritage shell than it is into, say, a 67? From what I've read, 77 and later
MGB's are just bolt in for a V8. Where does the heritage shell fit?

Also, is an MGC jsut a B with a V6 and a different hood? If I found a dead
MGC with clear title, does a B heritage Shell and an MGC hood make it an
MGC? With a V8 in it, is it a MGC V8?

Maybe I shouldnt post to the list doped up on cold medication.
