Try working on a modern car!  I spent a while talking with a late-90s Firebird 
owner at an autocross last season.  

He said that with some practice, he is now able to change his spark plugs and 
wires in just under eight hours.

When I told him I could have the head off in two, and drive away with a new 
head gasket torqued, valves adjusted, timing set (hell, may as well finish the 
tune-up) in under five, he just about died.

You're right, that seal under the windshield is a bear.  But things are so much 
simpler, and so much more accessible, than on more recent cars...

I don't know if working on them is as much fun as driving (sorry Rick), but it 
is really enjoyable.
