Hello Dave.  No, you are wrong. I have a 67B. With a 1980 overdrive tranny in 
it. I install it and it is bolted to the 67B engine. The only modification to 
the body is to extend the shifter hole. Two more inches to the rear. There 
plenty of space for the tranny and late model starter motor too.
