More shared opinions, having owned both
on multiple cars:

Weber DGV:
+ Easy to install but requires a new manifold,
   adding considerably to the cost.
+ Works find if you install a new one. If you
install a used one, you are installing someone
   else's problem.
+ Install ONLY the correct unit for your car
or it will be jetted wrong -- and perform
   accordingly.
+ Is <rather> well made and because of the
accelerator pump, makes for easy starting.
+ Meets smog laws, at least in design.
+ This is NOT the power option, it is the no-
   brainer option.

SU:
+ Easy to rebuild but do buy the right components,
including the correct needles and jets for your
   application.
+ Replace ALL the gaskets.
+ Install new float valves and , if in any way
   damaged, new floats.
+ Set the float levels carefully.
+ Recenter the jets if they are anything but perfect.
+ Never polish the air pistons.
+ This is the BEST power option

ZS:
+ This is the carburator equivalent of a smog pump.
It worked <almost> okay, when new.
+ They wear quickly causing vacuum leaks.
+ Good candidate for an SU or Weber conversion.
+ A worn ZS is worse than a mismatched Weber
   DGV.

Then there are the Weber DCOEs. Whole other
story...
The opinions are free. I hope they are worth it!

best,

rick
