Just back from Carlisle! Mea culpa! Hope Dave H. doesn't kill me but I
was so water logged from the rain Friday night and Saturday morning that
I blew off the meetings! Thursday was hot and muggy, Friday was much
better with rain clouds threatening all day but not a drop until I was
asleep in my campsite at the Fairgrounds. Then the rain was relentless.
Enough about the weather and my no show but on another note, did all of
you Carlisle regulars sense a significant decrease in the number of
vendors this year? Or was that my imagination? Seems like there was a
large number of commerical vendors but not nearly as many of the little
guys selling off the back of their pickups. There was almost an entire
row devoid of anyone. What happened? Are we all aging and not being
replaced by a younger generation not interested in the preservation of
the LBC? I will give it another shot year to see if it's just my
perception. My apologies to the lister group that meet at 12:30! I was
there in spirit but waterlogged and miserable from the night before, not
to mention nursing a gigantic Newcastle Brown Ale hangover due in large
part from several hours in the Marketplace Pub.
