MGA drivers,
OK, I'm getting the car all ready for the trip to Charlottesville for my
first GT. I rebuilt the front suspension and put on new hub splines,
lubed everything, change fluids, etc. I have four new tires to get
mounted, balanced, and an alignment. And I've got everybody's list of
tools and spares to haul with me.
But having never been to one of these before, I don't know how to prep
Deb and me. I called the Omni, and we can ship a carton of clothes to
ourselves, and they can arrange shipping back home. But what to take?
We lived north of C'ville, near Fredricksburg, for several years, so we
know how hot, and especially humid it can get. Going up to the mountains
gives a little reprieve, but the humidity is a killer! So we know to
bring light, airy clothing.
But what do we wear for NAMGAR events? Deb wants to know if she needs to
get new dresses, or dressy outfits. Do I need a sport jacket? Or are
slacks, nice shorts, and golf shirts the clothing of choice? We don't
want to show up at the banquet all caual, when everyone else is black tie!
With just three weeks until we leave, we are getting anxious to visit the
area again. We are going several days early, to visit old friends and see
old hang-outs. We should arrive Sunday, July 14, so if anyone else is
showing up early, come and introduce yourself!
