I've thought about getting an MG for a long time, and while I would not do
that before my miata goes bye-bye, I am taking my time to get some
information and possibly join the local club (haven't yet).

My question has to do with my concern over how UNreliable these neat cars
really are these days.

Bing as the only car (s) I own are MGs you have disturbed me a bit here.
Maintenance is the key to reliablity. The biggest problem, people who buy
an MG have, is sorting out years of neglect and stupid people tricks that
have been performed on the car. The greatest thing about these cars is
there simplicity.

My wife drives a 2002 Chevy Tracker and it has been in the shop twice in
it's first 2,500 miles for electrical problems. Prior to the Chevy she owned
a Mazda MPV for 9 years and I could write you a list of failures on that as
well, including a complete top end engine rebuilt needed at 55,000 miles and
a 6 months period when the brakes would decide to lock up. In those 6 months
the MPV was in the shop no less than a dozen times before the problem was
finally fixed.

Bottom line is, there is alot of stuff that can go wrong with an automobile,
regardless of make or model. My father used to say, "take care of it and it
will take care of you".
