Just last night at the MCCDC Noggin, John McClelland told the story of
his +4 with almost the identical symptoms. It turned out that the
distributor shaft was not true. The car would idle fine, but after about
a mile at driving speeds oil would travel up the shaft and soak the
points. After being stopped for a few minutes the oil would drain back
and the car would start only to repeat the process when driven. Bizarre
as it may sound, John's emergency fix was to fashion a shim from a cut in
half razor blade and using a jewelers hammer to tap in into place. The
upward flow of oil stopped and problem solved. However, John did not say
for how long. Ed Zelinski commented that he had a similar experience
and found that a cut up beer can also works well in this application.

I know this sounds strange and we were drinking at the time, but after
all they are Morgans!

Good luck with your fix.
