A question for the more experienced....

While underway, what is the normal engine (water) temperature in the later
model Rover V8? Mine runs about 105-110 degrees (C) and the radiator fan
cycles frequently. On cooler days, of course, it runs a bit cooler while
underway. In slower going, it warms right up.

Is there an optimal running temperature for this engine?

Has anyone found the engine water-wetter coolant aids worthwhile?

BTW, I've found that pushing the heat control cable fully in, and running
the heater fan at half speed the cockpit stays reasonably hospitable. At
least the air moves about. Early on, the heat valve was not closing
completely, and hot water was circulating in the heater system, causing
almost intolerable heat conditions for the driver and passenger. A new
valve solved that problem. Next is to pull the heater control cable out and
clean it well. Right now it moves only with great effort.

As ever, thanks for your collective knowledge.
