For what it's worth, on my '57 Plus 4 I have a 0-degree subframe, the
reinforcing bars from the top of the spring towers to the frame, and
plus 8 reinforcing bars on the bottom going back to the chassis. This is
reinforcement after hitting a couple of soft haybales at Pittsburgh and
bending my factory-reinforced subframe a bit. The difference in terms of
handling is subtle: braking is more predictable, less likely to 'pull'
to one side on hard braking, there's less noise in the corners of the
tires rubbing the tops of the towers, and I'd swear the handling is more
precise, but that's a relative statement. The zero camber subframe and
Dunlop racing tires in place of positive camber and Michelin X radials
(which I now use as road tires) makes a night and day difference in
handling on a tight course. I still spin out now and then, though.
