Really folks, are you telling me a small block blows at 9000 RPM? A really WELL
BUILT (from Mickey Thompson) 283 bored to a 301 will reach over 10,600 before
it loses pistons thru the top of it's Brodick heads. I know, I was the one who
missed 2nd to 3rd,(got hung in the neutral gate on a Borg Warner T10!)

Someone used the analogy of taking a small-block up to 9 grand, then
missing a shift. *BOOM* You now have a very expensive Alpine
paper-weight!
