Tony, not sure what could be causing this, maybe because when you say
"chatter" I think of the shake and lurch takeoff when the clutch engages,
this is usually due to oil on the clutch disc, or a warped flywheel surface,
either of which will cause uneven, grabby engagement. If you are getting a
metallic kind of ringing or howling noise with the pedal
to the floor, and the throwout bearing is good, then something inside the
clutch is at fault, maybe a broken spring in the pressure plate, loose bolts
somewhere etc.
I think you can rule out the clutch disk in backwards. I did that once and
the truck would not move. I hate when that happens!
