Grant,
I second replacing the brake lines. This is not an expensive monetary
investment, but it sure helps the braking and the peace of mind know your
brake lines are not rusted.
Also, there are tracing chemicals that show up under a black light.
Fantastic stuff to find leaks in all sorts of automotive systems.

|My truck has a similar problem. Much of this was attributed to a faulty
master cylinder...sigh. Another blasted thing to replace!
