Thanks everyone.. I am still skeptical even tho the assembly manual shows it
the way both Jim and Gary are saying. I have a more square U-Bolt that is
mounted to the torque tube on its own mounting bracket (not like in the
picture in Section 4 1.00). I was so sure you are right I assembled the
mounts the same way you are saying, yet when you install a shock (and I
didnt remove the upper mounts so no question there), the angle is too steep
and it doesnt look the way it seems it should. My U-Bolts do not go over the
entire axle. Instead, there is a bracket assembly that the U-Bolt hooks to.

This is why I need the people on this list to physically go out to your
vehicles and take a look-see and tell me what you have on yours. I'm
thinking the 50 is different from the 51+'s too. But I dunno since my 49 and
anything earlier uses the old shock system.

Thanks everyone.. and so I still don't know for sure.. please elaborate on
what is on your trucks! You are looking at the lower REAR shock mount and
tell me if its forward of the axle, and if its pointed up or down.
