When your truck was built, the heater was a dealer installed accessory.
There was a fresh air heater with controls more like what we have now and a
recirculating heater that just had a fan switch that was mounted through the
dash plate.  That's probably what you have.  I think that '60 was the first
year with a factory installed heater
