I have/ had (sitting at the moment waiting until I get rid if it) a 305 in a
85 monte carlo.  The head gasket blew.   In the monte its a 10hr shop time,
so too much $ for a clunker. Anyways, from everyone we've talked to they say
among other things that the 305s blow head gaskets at 70-80 thousand miles.
Shouldn't be a problem if its not a daily driver, but thought I'd let you
know.
